Helsinki Stock Market Overview (HEX) 04/12/2006 – 08/12/2006

During the week the OMX Helsinki 25 (OMXH25) index has increased by 2.23 % from 2764.32 to 2826.09. The number of stocks which have gained in value over the week is 92. The number of stocks which faced a decrease in value over the week is 48. The overall turnover throughout the week is 902 881 908 EUR. Two major week winners are Cramo and Uponor. Two week losers are Biotie Therapies and Aspocomp Group.

Cramo (CRA1V) is a parent company of the Cramo group, which rents machinery and equipment to the construction industry. The shares of the company increased by 11.25% over the week and reached a price of 16.63 Euro per share. The total volume traded during the week is almost 700 000 shares. Such a growth was a result of a new subscription of Cramo shares, which increased the company’s registered share capital.

Uponor (UNR1V), a supplier of heating and plastic plumbic systems, had a share increase of 8.00%, reaching 26.34 Euro per share. The price has been growing steadily over the last weeks, after Uponor has announced it will enter the growing cooling business. Shares value has probably peaked, and should decrease a bit in the upcoming week.

Biotie Therapies (BTH1V) is a drug development biotechnology company with a focus on dependence disorders, inflammatory diseases and thrombosis. The shares of the company finally reached the bottom and recovered on Tuesday after decreasing heavily since 29th of November. Still, in total the shares have decreased by 27.72% over the week. It is the biggest drop of the week in Helsinki market. However, prices are now recovering and going up and probably will remain growing for at least a week.

Aspocomp Group (ACG1V) shares decreased by 2.42% to 2.02 Euro per share. The Aspocomp Group provides services for the design and manufacture of high-tech products. They are used in the electronics industry: in handheld devices, telecommunications networks, automobiles and in other industrial applications. The decrease can be explained by TeliaSonera proposal of the new board of directors, which will be discussed during an extraordinary shareholders meeting on April, 2007.
