Helsinki Stock Market Overview (HEX) 05/02/2007 – 09/02/2007
 
During the week the OMX Helsinki 25 (OMXH25) index has increased by 0.86% from 3013.96 to 3046.52. The total turnover for the week is 1 355 171 310. The number of stocks which have gained in value over the week is 75. The number of stocks which have decreased in value over the week is 60. Comparing with previous week the overall turnover has decreased by 11%. Two major week winners are FIM Group and Perlos. Two major week losers are Elektrobit Group and PKC Group.
 
The prices of Perlos (POS1V) have increased by 22.69% and reached 3.87 EUR per share. Such an enormous increase is a result of correction to Perlos’ Financial Statement Bulletin 2006, which was announced on the 6th of February. The main data corrected: EBITDA (Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) from continuous operations was corrected from EUR 3.0 million to EUR 6.3 million for period 10-12/2006 and from EUR 8.4 million to EUR 11.6 million for period 1-12/2006. Perlos is a worldwide product design and manufacturing partner for the telecommunications and electronics industries.
 
Shares of Componenta (CTH1V) have increased in price by 15.04% and reached the price of 10.90 EUR per share. Componenta is a metal sector company with international operations. Its production plants are located in Finland, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Turkey. The reason for the increase in prices was operating profit of 40.4 millions euros and increase in earning per share from 0.26 EUR in 2005 to 0.36 EUR in 2006.
 
Elektrobit Group (EBG1V) shares experienced the biggest decrease of 15.84% during the week. The price dropped to 2.03 EUR per share. This happened because of Elektrobit Group plc.'s Financial Statement Bulletin 2006, announced on February 7th. The operating profit was 17.3 million EUR in 2005, while in 2006 it appeared to be a 3.0 million EUR loss.
 
Uponor (UNR1V) is an international supplier of plumbing and heating systems for the residential and commercial building markets. Because of published Financial Statements for the year 2006, the prices dropped by 7.60% to 26.94 EUR per share. As they were published only at the end of this week, prices are expected to fall in the nearest future as well.
