HEX (Helsinki) Market Overviews

Helsinki Stock Market Overview (HEX) 26/02/2007 – 02/03/2007

The index of Helsinki stock market this week reached 2984.79 3125.32, which is a decrease of 4.49% comparing with previous week. However, the total turnover of the week has more than doubled to 2 127 458 389 EUR. The number of stocks that gained in value during the week is 11; the number of stocks that decreased in its value is 136. Two major week losers are Okmetic and Incap. Two major week winners are Interavanti and Pohjois-Karjal.Kirjap.A .

YIT Corporation (YTY1V) shares have decreased by 10.94% to 24.16 EUR per share. The reason for such a decrease is the bad financial performance in the financial year 2006. YIT Corporation offers services for the property and construction sector, industry and telecommunications.

Incap (ICP1V) offers leading equipment suppliers in the electronics and electrical industry flexible and high-quality comprehensive services that combine versatile know-how in electronics and mechanical engineering. Their shares during the week have decreased by 14.7% which is second biggest decrease in Helsinki Stock Market. The reason for such a rapid decrease is a financial statement of the company issued on 27th of February. According to it the profit has decreased from 5.1 million in 2005 to 3.2 million in 2006. Hence the earning per share also decreased.

Cramo Plc (CRA1V) is a service company specializing in construction machinery and equipment rental and rental-related services. Last week its share price decreased by -8.14% to 22.45 EUR per share. Such a decrease can be explained by two factors. First of all, Cramo Plc and Jyväskylän Konevuokraamo Oy have signed an agreement concerning the transfer of the company’s assets (rental fleet and customer agreements). And secondly, the board of directors proposed a new policy that around a third of the company's annual profit will be distributed in terms of share buybacks and dividends. Such decisions may have caused the share price to decline.
