Russian Stock Market Overview 06/10/2006 – 10/11/2006
During the following week the Russian stock exchange index RTSI has increased by 1.1% from 1675.03 to 1693.41, which means that the total stock capitalization has practically stayed the same during the week. The total cash turnover of the Russian stock exchange market in this week has been 121,775,058 €. Comparing to the previous stock exchange week the overall cash turnover has decreased by 17.2%.
One of the biggest increases in price during this week was observed with Corporation VSMPO-AVISMA (VSMO) shares with an increase in price by 13.22% at the number of 47 deals this week. The shares price became 197.96 € per share. Such increase could be explained by the increase of the production of the company. As we know, the financial report after 9 moths showed that the company is doing very well and matches its predicted results. The overall turnover this week was 2,064,335.46 € at 11 104 shares sold.
Despite our previous prediction the company Severstal (CHMF) has suffered a decrease in price by 7.00 % at the number of 191 deals this week. Share price has decreased from 10.16 € to 9.43 €. According to Ivan Mazlov, the representative of the Moscow investment fund, such decrease could be observed because of a small demand on Severstal shares and too high price on them. Severstal managed to sell 2,584,059 shares with a total turnover 25,641,561.05 €.
Our previous prediction about rise in price of shares of metallurgy companies was well illustrated by ОАО Трубная металлургическая компания (TRMK). This company shares has risen by 8.33% from 5.18 € per share to 5.61 €. Trading turnover on this week for the company was 535,505.76 € at 99 140 shares sold. During the next week we will probably observe the instability in oil companies while metallurgy companies in general could still rise in price. We could probably expect that shares of Corporation VSMPO-AVISMA will continue to rise. Also we could try to make an assumption that Severstal will recover in price and we will see the rise in price of shares.
